Expectations for Christmas!

There is an expectation that we have during the Holidays. We look forward to giving gifts and receiving presents, time with family and friends, and a peace and a joy that we can't seem to get at any other time of the year! We get excited about time off from work, much needed rest, and just getting away from the hustle and bustle of life. But how much of our expectation is rooted in God versus people or material things? In other words, what do we spiritually expect to receive from God during this time of the year? If you think about it we only have a couple of weeks left in 2014. What does God want you to hear? What does God want you to see? How can you live your life more for Him and spread His love this Christmas season? What I am really saying is that in the midst of it all, make sure to spend time in prayer. Be still in His presence and give as He has given unto you, by praying for others, speaking His promises, and believing His Word to be true. For in Jeremiah 29:11, He said I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." He sent His Son Jesus Christ to save us so we would not put our hope in earthly things but in the Almighty God who gave them to us in the first place! So, enjoy this Christmas season but let your expectation always be in Him!

Early In The Morning Will I Seek Thee

The presence and the sovereignty of God is what keeps us in awe of Him. If you haven't got up yet early in the morning to sit, kneel, or lay before Him, do so. There is nothing like the peace of mind you have when you know that someone greater than you, greater than this earth, is watching over you and is in control.   David said in Psalm 63:1 "Oh God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is." You have too seek to hear His voice and seek to hear Him through His Word. In a world that sends out so many mixed messages, you need the wisdom of God on how to live each day through Jesus Christ. There you will find joy, peace, rest, and favor.  You will experience the presence of God like you have never known if you just get in position and reverence who He is. You will hear His voice and He will quench your thirst. He will flood your soul with the fact that He is God and God alone, and has saved and delivered you through His Son!

Pray Like You Never Have Today

Pray. Pray. Pray like you never have before today. Pray to your Father, like Jesus did, even in the midst of the pain. Pray to the One who loves you so much. Pray to the One who always looks out for you no matter what. Pray so that you can hear what He has to say. Lay down your burdens today. Whether you're happy or sad, lonely or dismayed, pray anyway so that He can show you the way. Pray today because you love Him in so many ways.  I Thessalonians 5:17 says "Pray without ceasing". One may think that to pray without ceasing you have to be on your knees every day. But prayer is more than just bowing your head or falling to your knees. Prayer is when you are in constant communication with your Father; when you are open to hearing what he has to say no matter what time of day. Your spirit is open to hear what He has to say through His Word in every way. Have you prayed today? If not, don't delay. He is waiting to hear from you. He wants you in His presence to stay.

Deliverance is Real

You know those battles that you have, the struggles that you constantly endure, and the bondage that sometimes overwhelms you? You do not have to be overcome by them! Deliverance is real! God can set you free through Jesus Christ if you want it. He wants to deliver you. He wants to show you that there is a way out of no way just like he raised Jesus from the dead. All you have to do is call His name. All you have to do is put yourself in a position to receive from Him by reading His Word, be among believers in a service that  will teach you about His power and just lay before him and pray!  He will speak to you. He will let you know that He is always there. And He will meet you right where you are! Psalm 34:17 says "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; and delivers them from all their troubles." All you have to do is have the expectation for God to do so and He will. Just know that the deliverance that only God can bring is real. He is waiting for you to live the life He has given you, full of joy and peace, FREE from the bondage of sin, guilt, and shame!

You Are God's Child!

You have to know who you are in Christ! God has given you so much power and it's already in you through His Son Jesus Christ. Power to overcome stress! Power to overcome strife! Power to live in joy! Power to be filled with His peace! There is nothing satan can do to take that from you unless you let him. You have to remember who you are. 1 John 4:13 says "Hereby know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit". You have to know that. God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit on the inside of you, is all that you need. He wants to fill you up. He wants to carry you. He wants to speak to you. He wants you to know to whom you belong and for you to have that ongoing, never ending, everlasting relationship with Him so you can overcome. Just don't ever forget that you are His child. He has your back. He will be with you wherever you go. And He is waiting on you to realize that to the fullness so that you can go higher in Him and live out your destiny.  So, don't hestitate. Read His Word, pray to Him daily, get to know Him, and receive His wisdom and direction. You are a child of the King!

The Simple Truth

The simple truth is God loves you! Someone may make you question that, and others may challenge that, but there's nothing you can do to change that. His love for you is so strong that no matter what you do he is still there for you. He is just waiting for you to show Him love in return. I John 4:8-9 says "...God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him." So live in His love and don't ever forget how precious you are sight. For the simple truth is that God is love and He loves you!

The Secret Place

Nothing can measure up to your time with God.  There is a depth that no man can touch when it comes to the time you have between you and Him!  It is an intimate time when you find rest and favor; a place where only God Can speak!  He speaks to that part of you that will only respond to the rhythm of His voice. He fills the void that a normal eye cannot see. It is called your personal time with Him; your secret place. Psalm 91:1-2 says "He who dwells in the secret place of the most High shall dwell under the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God, in Him will I trust." Stay there. Find rest there. Live there with Him.  He will never let you down!

You have to desire more...

The days of life can be fleeting. Time goes by so fast and you do not know what's going to come from one day to the next. However, we do know our Father. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever more!  and he knows everything. So why not put our trust in him. Why not get to know him more. We have to desire more. He wants to give us more. He wants to give us more of a His power, more of His love, more of His mercy. Don't miss your time with him. He wants to give you more. You have to desire more of Him. Read Psalm 27:4...
